A Baker’s Dozen for Happiness

A friend recently shared an article on happiness based on the book The How of Happiness that was well worth the read. Now skip forward a few days and my daughter has started learning about personal success in health class in which her teacher is using the Andy Andrews: The Seven Decisions DVD series from PBS. She is really excited about it and has been sharing with us little tid bits of insight each evening at dinner. It is as though the universe is asking that I take a look inward and assess my current state of glee. It turns out that on some fronts, I am doing just find. But for as many things that I can check off on my happiness list, there are just as many that I could work on. So for that reason, using the references above, I have put together my own baker’s dozen of personal mantras to recite in hopes of optimizing or improving my success; both personally and professionally. What would yours look like?

Pure happiness =)

This picture of my own little baker reflects the unbridled happiness of a child. If only we could bottle it!

  1. BE THANKFUL and SHOW IT.
  2. THINK POSITIVE and SHARE IT.
  3. THE GRASS IS GREEN RIGHT HERE.
  4. BE KIND.
  5. SAY HELLO and GOODBYE.
  6. FIND SUPPORT and USE IT.
  7. EMBRACE FORGIVENESS.
  8. FIND MY MUSE.
  9. SET GOALS and OBTAIN THEM.
  10. LOOK FOR HIGHER MEANING.
  11. LOVE MYSELF and MY BODY.
  12. LAUGH OFTEN and WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM.
  13. IF OFFERED AN EXTRA DOUGHNUT—TAKE IT!
